The Slavonic Festival brings three days of community, tradition, and celebration to Rahway. St. Thomas the Apostle Byzantine Catholic Church opens its doors to share Slavonic culture, food, music, and fellowship with neighbors and visitors.
Friday, October 2 runs from 5 to 10 p.m. with sit-down dinners featuring homemade Slavonic meals. Saturday begins at noon and continues through 10 p.m., also featuring sit-down dinner service. Both evenings include live music, a raffle, games of chance, church tours, and activities for children. Sunday, October 4 runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. as a take-out service, allowing visitors to bring festival favorites home.
Beyond the meals, the festival offers beverages, homemade desserts, and a welcoming space to explore Slavonic traditions. Divine Liturgy is held Saturday at 5 p.m. and Sunday at 10 a.m. for those who wish to worship with the community. The festival takes place at the corner of St. Georges Ave. and Church St., Rahway.
