Every registered runner and walker in this year's Turkey Trot will receive a medal at the completion of the run.
The Township of Union will hold its 3rd Annual Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk on Thursday, Nov. 26, Thanksgiving morning, in Union. The 5K run begins at 8 a.m. ET from the start line in front of Weber Park on Rahway Avenue. Union County Life is sharing the details so neighbors can plan ahead.
The township organizes the event and thanks its sponsors on the event page. Each registered participant receives a shirt or a beanie at check in, while supplies last. One water and aid station will be set up by Weber Park, and restrooms are near the start line inside the park.
The registration form lists five age groups: 9 and under, 10 to 19, 20 to 39, 40 to 59, and 60 and over. Strollers and leashed pets are permitted on the route. Families and groups should note that each member must be registered individually.
Online registration is currently open through the township's registration form. Race day registration opens at 7 a.m. at check in. A waiver must be agreed to on the form by a participant 18 or older, or by someone with authority to register the participants.
Parking is free at the Liberty Ave and Rahway Ave parking lot or at the Ideal Professional Office Park off Lousons Road. The township also suggests parking on surrounding streets or near Rahway Avenue.
