5th Annual Littell-Lord Fall Festival, Berkeley Heights,

On Saturday, October 17, Berkeley Heights gathers at the Littell-Lord Farmstead to celebrate history, community, and restoration work. The 5th Annual Littell-Lord Fall Festival marks a milestone: the unveiling of Phase 2 of the farmstead's restoration project. For the past several years, a dedicated community has been working to bring this historic building back to life. This year's work focused on the exterior — windows, doors, shutters, siding, and fresh paint — made possible through grants, donations, and neighbors who believe in preserving Berkeley Heights history.

A newly formed Berkeley Heights Heritage Foundation will be introduced at the festival, created to support the preservation and promotion of the town's historic sites and stories. The day ties into America's 250th Anniversary, and George and Martha Washington are scheduled to arrive at the farmstead as special guests, joined by surprise historical figures. More than 20 artisans, crafters, and local authors will be on hand. Students from Governor Livingston High School will showcase work from the Art Club, Photography Club, and Woodworking Club, and an a cappella group will perform.

The afternoon fills with activities for every age. The Berkeley Heights Police Department sponsors a fishing derby and pumpkin painting (co-sponsored by Diamond Hill Montessori School). The Mayor's Youth Council and The Dog Stop are sponsoring a dog parade. The 2027 12U Cooperstown Experience Baseball Team sponsors a haunted trail called "Screams for Dreams." Untied Brewing Company will host a beer garden, and a harvest activity area offers fun for younger children. The Berkeley Heights Community Garden Club will host a visit to the community apiary, and the Berkeley Heights Garden Club will demonstrate and give tours of the Berkeley Heights Apiary Garden. Live music, food vendors, and raffles continue throughout the day.

The festival runs from noon to 4 p.m. at the Littell-Lord Farmstead, located at the intersection of Mountain Avenue and Horseshoe Road in Berkeley Heights.
