AddamsFest Americana Art Exhibit in Westfield, NJ

- Westfield NJ 07090

A cartoon of a perfectly ordinary American scene, with something slightly off in the corner. That is the spirit of AddamsFest Americana, an art exhibit in Westfield that closes on Sunday, October 25.

This year’s AddamsFest exhibit marks America’s 250th anniversary by looking at the American experience through the eyes of Charles Addams, the Westfield native who created the Addams Family. Union County Life shares the details so Westfield neighbors and art lovers can catch the show before it ends.

The exhibit features original works by Addams, on loan from the Tee & Charles Addams Foundation, alongside pieces by local artists. Together they show the unexpected side of America’s everyday places, traditions, and landscapes. Featured artists include Gina Minichino with “Westfield, When I Was a Kid,” Christiana Glorius with “NJ Cryptids Reunion,” and Toby Tobin with “The Nuclear Family,” among 13 artists in all.

The exhibit is at the Rialto Center for Creativity, 250 East Broad Street, Westfield. It is open weekends through October 25: Fridays from 5 to 8 p.m., Saturdays from 1 to 6 p.m., and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Closing day hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information, visit addamsfest.com or email info@addamsfest.com.

Seeing Addams’s work in the town where he grew up gives the art a different weight. Find more Westfield events, arts coverage, and community news on Union County Life.
