Fanwood 5K Pizza Run Volunteers Needed in Fanwood, NJ
Fanwood Borough Hall, · 75 North Martine Avenue, Fanwood, NJ 07023
Standing on a corner in a bright vest, waving runners through and shouting encouragement as they pass. That’s the job, and the Fanwood 5K Pizza Run is looking for neighbors to do it.
The Fanwood 5K Pizza Run & Family Fun Run takes place Sunday, October 18. Organizers need road marshals along the race routes from about 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., though volunteers may finish earlier. Union County Life shares the call so Fanwood neighbors can sign up in time.
Road marshals guide runners along the course, watch intersections, and help keep runners and the community safe. They also have one unofficial job: cheering on every runner who passes. Volunteers get a free race shirt, a safety vest to wear during the event, and free pizza after the race.
Individuals, families, and groups of friends are all welcome. Volunteers must be at least 16 to sign up on their own, and younger volunteers can take part with an adult. Sign up through the online form called Fanwood 5K Volunteer Sign Up. Questions can go to Venessa at venessa.white@gmail.com.
