Fanwood Councilman Jeff Banks is not seeking reelection to the Borough Council. He will complete his current term on December 31, after eight years on the council.
Banks announced his decision in a letter to the editor published by TAPinto Scotch Plains-Fanwood. Union County Life is reporting the change so Fanwood voters know the seat is open on November 3.
Banks served on the council with Mayor Colleen Mahr and Councilman Anthony Carter, and was the council’s liaison to the Fanwood Recreation Commission. He called serving the community one of the great honors of his life.
In the same letter, Banks endorsed Carter, his former running mate, and Mike Lowenthal, a longtime Recreation Commissioner who is running for Banks’ seat.
