Golden Age Towers Blood Pressure Screening in Rahway, NJ — July 2026
Every month, the Rahway Health Department sets up at Golden Age Towers to offer residents something they count on: a quick, professional check of their blood pressure. No appointment needed. The screening takes just a few minutes, and a health professional is there to answer questions and explain what the numbers mean.
Golden Age Towers, the city's senior housing community on Milton Avenue, is where this service feels most at home. The residents there are the first to use it, but anyone in Rahway can walk in. For many seniors, staying on top of blood pressure is just another part of staying healthy and independent at home.
What to expect: You'll have your blood pressure taken in a quiet spot. The health department staff will record your numbers and talk you through what they mean. If you have questions about your results or your health, they are there to listen. The whole visit takes just minutes.
The screening happens on Thursday, July 9, from 2 to 3 p.m. at Golden Age Towers, 200 E. Milton Avenue, Rahway, NJ 07065. It is free and open to walk-ins. No registration is needed, though you can call the City of Rahway at 732-827-2000 if you want to confirm before you come.
This is one of the ways the Rahway Health Department keeps seniors and their neighbors in good health. Union County Life covers all the health services and community events happening across the county's 21 municipalities.

FAQ
Can I bring someone to the screening with me?
Yes. While the screening itself is one-on-one, family members or friends are welcome to accompany you to Golden Age Towers. If you have questions about your results afterward, they can be there to help you understand next steps.
What if my blood pressure is high?
The health department staff will explain what your numbers mean and may suggest you follow up with your own doctor. A single high reading does not mean a diagnosis—what matters is a pattern over time. The staff can answer questions about what healthy blood pressure looks like.
Do I need an appointment?
No appointment is needed. This is a walk-in screening. You can show up anytime between 2 and 3 p.m. If there's a line, you may wait a few minutes, but the screening itself is quick.
