Hometown Heroes

John T. Gregorio Center · 330 Helen Street, Linden, NJ 07036.

Each year, Linden pauses to honor neighbors who have served in the military and given their lives to our country. The Hometown Heroes banner ceremony brings the community together to recognize this service. The City of Linden, along with Uptown Linden, celebrates the dedication of these honorees during this meaningful afternoon.

The program features banners of approximately 29 by 55 inches, made of vinyl, that display the name, branch of service, era of service, and photograph of each honored veteran. These banners will be placed on poles along Wood Avenue in Linden for the community to see and remember. The ceremony takes place at the John T. Gregorio Center, 330 Helen Street, starting at 2:30 PM on Sunday, November 8.

If you wish to nominate a Linden serviceman or servicewoman for the 2026 program, applications must be submitted by October 15. Nominees must have lived in Linden at some point and served honorably in the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, National Guard, Coast Guard, or Merchant Marine. For more information about the nomination process or the ceremony, contact the Linden SID – Uptown Linden office at (908) 718-5831 or email sid@uptownlinden.com.
