Julio Botti Jazz Quartet at GALERIA in Westfield, NJ
GALERIA The Art Venue · 111 Quimby Street
Julio Botti was 8 years old in Córdoba, Argentina, when his mother gave him his first saxophone. Almost 30 years later, he brings that saxophone to downtown Westfield on Friday, October 23.
The Julio Botti Jazz Quartet performs as part of the Latin Jazz @ Galeria Concert Series, presented by TEATRO Sí. Union County Life shares the details so Westfield neighbors and music lovers across the county can plan their evening.
Botti has played in nightclubs in Havana and cave venues in Madrid, and he has worked with Maestro Pablo Ziegler. His albums Tango Nostalgias and Sax to Tango were each nominated for Best Tango Album at the Latin Grammy Awards. The concert features his blend of tango and Latin jazz, including his newest single, El Tio. Eduardo Withrington plays keyboards, Franco Pinna plays drums, and guitarist Carlos Chong joins as a special guest.
The show runs from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at GALERIA The Art Venue, 111 Quimby Street, Westfield. Tickets are $30 plus an online service fee. You can also reserve a seat by calling the TEATRO Sí box office at 908-301-9496. Refreshments will be available, and the gallery's current art exhibits by international and local artists will be on view.
Proceeds support programming at TEATRO Sí, a nonprofit. A saxophone gift from a mother in Argentina now fills a Westfield gallery with music. Find more Westfield events, arts coverage, and community news on Union County Life.
