Leaf Collection for Section 2 in Berkeley Heights, NJ — December 2026
- Berkeley Heights Township NJ 07922
The Berkeley Heights Department of Public Works will collect bagged leaves at the curb in Section 2 on Friday, December 11, 2026. The Township calendar lists the pickup as all day and does not give a start or end time. It is the last Section 2 date on the calendar this season, following Monday, December 7.
Union County Life is sharing the Section 2 details so Berkeley Heights residents can get ready. Section 2 includes streets such as Allen Terrace, Beech Avenue, Hillside Avenue, Liberty Avenue, Locust Avenue, Washington Avenue, and Woodwild Way. Some streets are split. Bolton Boulevard is Section 2 from house number 80 to 111, and Hamilton Avenue is Section 2 from 255 to 487. Mountain Avenue is Section 2 from 69 to 701 on the north side, and Snyder Avenue is Section 2 between Mountain Avenue and the railroad. On Plainfield Avenue, homes across from Columbia Middle School are in Section 2. The full street list is at berkeleyheights.gov/sections.
Use paper biodegradable bags and stack them neatly at the curb. Put them out before your scheduled pickup date. Bags must hold leaves only. Bags with anything else, or bags left on a driveway, will be rejected and left for you, because DPW will not go onto driveways. Do not block catch basins or sidewalks. The Township has no vacuum truck, so leaves must be bagged, not raked into the road.
The Township says there will be limited time to return to a section on unscheduled dates. If you miss this pickup, you can drop off paper bagged leaves at the DPW, 101 Berkeley Avenue, next to Town Hall, on Saturday, December 19, from 9 AM to noon. Drop off ends December 31, and no grass or contractor or commercial vehicles are allowed. If you live on a county road, the Union County schedule has not been posted yet. County road residents with concerns can call Union County DPW at 908.789.2660.
The Township does not list a cost for this service or mention any sign up. For questions, call Berkeley Heights Township at 908.464.2700. Stay informed about Berkeley Heights news and announcements on Union County Life.
