Mostly Music Viennese Virtuosity Concert in Westfield, NJ
Temple Emanu-El · 756 East Broad Street
A clarinet's warm tone rises above the strings, and an audience of neighbors settles in for an afternoon of music written in old Vienna. On Sunday, October 25, Mostly Music opens its 47th season of live chamber music in Westfield.
The program, "Viennese Virtuosity," shows off the beauty and brilliance of the clarinet alongside strings. Clarinetist David Shifrin is featured, joined by violinists Amy Schwartz Moretti and Arnaud Sussmann, violist Paul Neubauer, and cellist Edward Arron. The musicians share commentary about the composers and the music during the concert. Union County Life readers who love classical music can hear world class performers close to home.
The concert runs from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at Temple Emanu-El, 756 East Broad Street, Westfield. Mostly Music president Arlene Gardner, a Westfield resident, said the series brings internationally known musicians to an easy to reach venue.
Tickets are $50 per concert, and students get in free. A subscription to all five concerts in the 2026 to 2027 season costs $200. Tickets are sold online at mostlymusic.org or at the door. For questions, call 908-789-8578 or email mostlymusicnj@gmail.com.
