Mountainside Townwide Garage Sale

Neighbors gather throughout Mountainside for the annual Townwide Garage Sale, an event that transforms the community into a marketplace while strengthening local connections. Residents clear out closets, garages, and basements while shoppers discover useful goods and unexpected finds.

The Mountainside Townwide Garage Sale takes place on Saturday, September 19, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., rain or shine. Driveways throughout Mountainside will be filled with household items for sale. For sellers, it is an opportunity to clear unwanted items and give them a second life. For shoppers, it is a chance to find bargains and perhaps a hidden treasure, discovering that one person's unwanted item may be the treasure someone else is looking for.

Residents who want to sell must register by 5 p.m. Monday, September 14. Registration costs $25 per home. Each registered seller receives a lawn sign identifying the property as an official participant and will be added to both an electronic Google Maps directory and a printed sale-day map. Sellers can also identify the types of items available at their location, allowing shoppers to plan routes based on sales that interest them. Shoppers can sign up for free updates, sale-day tips, and access to the electronic map. The printed map will be available outside the Mountainside Public Library.
