Murray Pantirer Scholars Lecture in Union, NJ — December 2026

STEM Auditorium, Kean University · 1000 Morris Avenue

According to the Kean University Holocaust Resource Center.

Paul Salmons, Chief Curator of Seeing Auschwitz, will give the 2026 Murray Pantirer Annual Scholars Lecture on Tuesday, December 1, 2026, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the STEM Auditorium at Kean University in Union.

The Kean University Holocaust Resource Center says much of what we think we know about Auschwitz has been shaped by a relatively small number of iconic photographs. Salmons will look beyond the frozen image to ask not only what a photograph shows, but what it can reveal.

According to the center, a close reading uncovers not only the process of mass murder but also deeply moving personal stories, ethical dilemmas and examples of extraordinary resistance.

The Holocaust Resource Center hosts the lecture. The series is named for the late Holocaust survivor and center founder Murray Pantirer, and the center says the annual lecture series has attracted thousands of visitors to the Kean University campus.

Registration is through an online form linked from the center's events page. The listings do not state a cost, a registration deadline, or parking details. The event location is STEM Auditorium at Kean University, 1000 Morris Avenue, Union. Questions can go to adara.goldberg@kean.edu.
