Two mayoral debates and one council debate are scheduled for Wednesday, September 30, at the New Providence Middle School/High School Media Center, 35 Pioneer Drive. The League of Women Voters of the Morris Area, a nonpartisan civic organization, is hosting the events in partnership with the New Providence Democratic Municipal Committee and the New Providence Republican Committee.
The mayoral debate begins at 7 p.m. Two candidates are on the ballot for mayor: Kathleen Dolan, the Democratic candidate, and Allen Morgan, the Republican candidate. The mayoral term runs four years. The council debate starts at 8 p.m. Four candidates are competing for two council seats, each carrying a three year term. The Republican council candidates are Nadine Geoffroy and Michael Pennski. The Democratic council candidates are Toby Rossmann and Johan Starr.

The debates will also be broadcast during the event for live viewing. Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, 2026, with polls open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Early in person voting runs October 24 through November 1, 2026, on weekdays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Vote by mail information is available at nj.gov/state/elections/vote-by-mail.shtml.
