Scott Krokoff and Strikes and Gutters in Fanwood, NJ

Carriage House (Patricia M. Kuran Cultural Arts Center) · 135 Watson Road

Back in 2009, a few Fanwood neighbors started a small concert series so local music lovers had a place to gather. On Saturday, November 14, one of those founders returns to the stage to close out the series’ fall season.

The Fanwood Performance Series presents Scott Krokoff and Strikes and Gutters at the Carriage House, also known as the Patricia M. Kuran Cultural Arts Center. Union County Life shares the details so Fanwood neighbors and music fans across the county can save a seat.

Krokoff is a New York singer, songwriter, and guitarist who blends folk, rock, and country pop into Americana songs with personal, relatable lyrics. He returns to Fanwood after playing the June 2022 show that restarted the series after the pandemic. Strikes and Gutters is a local trio of longtime friends, Dave Handler, Evan Siegel, and Brian Celardo, who share a love of 1970s sounds. Celardo helped found the series in 2009 and was one of its first performers.

The show starts at 7 p.m. at 135 Watson Road, just west of Martine Avenue and next to Fanwood Borough Hall. The suggested donation is $15 for adults and $10 for students and seniors, paid in cash at the door. Seating is limited, so email fanwoodperformance@gmail.com with the number of seats you need. More details are at fanwoodperformanceseries.org.

The series is run by volunteers and presented by Mayor Colleen Mahr and the Fanwood Borough Cultural Arts Council, with support from a Union County HEART Grant. Seventeen years in, it is still neighbors making music for neighbors. Find more Fanwood events, arts coverage, and community news on Union County Life.
