ELIZABETH, NJ - A celebration of culture, history, and community spirit took center stage in Elizabeth as Elizabeth Portugal Day's pageant honored Portugal’s rich heritage with a meaningful theme inspired by Dia da Liberdade, or the Day of Freedom.Held on April 25, 2025, the event paid tribute to the Carnation Revolution, a pivotal moment in Portuguese history that marked the end of dictatorship and the beginning of democracy. Organizers chose the theme to reflect the values of freedom, unity, and pride, aligning with the significance of the date.Participants and attendees alike embraced the cultural celebration, which highlighted Portuguese traditions and brought the community together for a festive, memorable occasion.As part of the event, the 2026 Royal Family was officially crowned.
