
Elizabeth to Host 2026 Earth Day Cleanup at City Hall

ELIZABETH, NJ – Mayor J. Christian Bollwage, the City of Elizabeth, and the New Jersey Clean Communities Council are inviting residents to take part in the 2026 Earth Day Cleanup on Wednesday, April 22.The community-wide event will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., beginning at City Hall. Residents are encouraged to build a team, choose an area in need of cleaning, and help make a difference throughout the city. Supplies are limited.The day’s schedule includes registration, distribution of supplies, and departure to cleanup sites from 9 to 10 a.m., followed by cleanup efforts from 10 a.m. to noon. Volunteers will then gather for lunch and awards from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at the Peterstown Community Center, located at 418 Palmer St.For more information or to register a team, residents can email Kelly Contreras at kelly.contreras@elizabethnj.org.
