
Hillside Celebrating Birthday with Community Art Project

HILLSIDE, NJ — Hillside is preparing to celebrate its 113th birthday and wants the community to be a part of it.The town launched “One Town, Many Stories,” a community-wide art project that asks residents of all ages to share their connection to Hillside.Members of the community are invited to visit the Hillside Clerk's Office, which is located on the first floor of Town Hall, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. through April 27 to pick up a 4" by 4" canvas board.Residents will use their own supplies to create artwork on the canvas under the theme “What do you represent in Hillside?”The completed artwork can be returned to the clerk's office or at the Township Council Meeting on April 28.Members of the community are invited to visit Town Hall on April 29, from 6 to 8 p.m., where the completed canvases will be assembled.The Township of Hillside was established by the New Jersey Legislature on April 3, 1913, and ratified by the citizens of Hillside on April 29, 1913.See more information on the project and celebration in the flyer below, courtesy of the Township of Hillside.
