ROSELLE PARK, NJ -Roselle Park High School celebrated another major student-athlete milestone this morning as senior Anthony Cianfrocca officially announced his academic and athletic commitment to Norwich University, where he will continue his football career while pursuing a degree in Engineering this fall. For any high school athlete, the opportunity to compete at the collegiate level is a significant achievement-and according to the NCAA, it is one that only a small percentage of student-athletes attain. Of the nearly eight million high school students participating in athletics nationwide, only about 560,000 go on to compete at NCAA schools. In football specifically, just 8.1% of high school football players continue on to NCAA athletics, with only 3.4% reaching Division I competition. That makes Cianfrocca’s accomplishment even more impressive.A standout leader on the football field for the Panthers, Anthony capped off his senior season by earning First Team All-Conference honors and Third Team All-County recognition. Over the course of his high school football career, he established himself as one of Roselle Park’s most reliable and versatile athletes.Offensively, Cianfrocca rushed for 1,637 yards on 279 carries and scored 14 touchdowns, highlighted by a memorable performance in the final Thanksgiving Day game where he ran for 155 yards and two touchdowns.Defensively, he was equally impactful, finishing his career with 112 tackles, including six sacks, along with two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and one interception. But football was only part of his athletic journey.Anthony was also a three-sport athlete at Roselle Park High School, contributing as a key member of the wrestling team and the track and field program. His commitment across multiple sports reflected the work ethic, toughness, and leadership that made him a respected figure throughout the athletic department. He now joins an impressive group of Roselle Park seniors continuing their athletic careers at the collegiate level, including Brianna Apello (Ramapo College of New Jersey / Soccer), Anthony Damiano (Rutgers University–Newark / Baseball), Sidney Smith (Elon University / Basketball), Jose Candelaria III (College of Saint Elizabeth / Baseball), Mia Botello (University of Maryland, Baltimore County / Softball), and Diego Osorio (Middlesex College / Soccer).Roselle Park High School and the entire Roselle Park School District continue to take pride in the success of its student-athletes, whose accomplishments represent years of dedication both in the classroom and in competition.
