
Roselle Park to Honor Fallen Heroes on Memorial Day

ROSELLE PARK, NJ — Roselle Park will honor fallen heroes at the borough's annual Memorial Day parade and service on Monday, May 25.“On Memorial Day, we honor the heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country,” Mayor Joseph Signorello Jr. said in a news release. “This year’s parade carries special weight as we celebrate two monumental milestones: the 125th anniversary of our borough and the 250th anniversary of our country.” The parade lines up at 9 a.m. at Sherman Elementary School and begins an hour later. The parade will proceed west on East Grand Avenue, turns right onto Chestnut Street and ends at the Roselle Park Veterans Memorial Library. An outdoor memorial service follows.Gerald “Jerry” Vitale is the grand marshal of the parade. The Roselle Park Police Department, Newark Mounted Police and local organizations and leaders will also participate.“It's an honor to stand with our community in tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation,” Signorello added. “This parade and memorial service offer a chance for us all to come together and reflect on the sacrifices that allow us to enjoy the freedoms we have today.”
