Springfield Board of Education Adopts $62.16M Budget for 2026–27 School Year

SPRINGFIELD, NJ — The Springfield Board of Education voted to adopt the final 2026–2027 School Year Budget following its public hearing on April 27 at Jonathan Dayton High School. The new budget represents an increase of $4.1 million over the previous budget.The spending plan, previously approved in tentative form by the Executive County Superintendent, reflects the district’s operating needs, state aid allocations, and the tax levy required to support next year’s programs.The board approved a total budget of $62,160,025, which includes:General Fund: $56,471,099Special Revenue: $3,429,195Debt Service: $2,259,731 The district anticipates:General Fund Revenues: $2,259,731Special Revenue: $3,429,195Debt Service Revenue: $763,401 The board certified a $47,000,441 total tax levy, consisting of:General Fund Tax Levy: $45,504,111Debt Service Tax Levy: $1,496,330The 2025-26 budget was for $58.061 million in total expenditures.
