
Springfield Board of Education Approves Contracts for Turf Upgrades at Athletic Fields for $1.49M

SPRINGFIELD, NJ — The Springfield Board of Education voted Monday night to approve contracts for two major facilities upgrades, authorizing new turf field installations at both Florence M. Gaudineer Middle School and Jonathan Dayton High School.The two contracts carry a combined price tag of $1,494,955.95.The district will enter into a contract with Field Turf for a full turf replacement project at Florence M. Gaudineer Middle School. The project, funded through the district’s capital reserve, is approved for $685,247.82. The work is being awarded under Contract # ESCNJ 22/23‑37, a cooperative purchasing agreement used by districts statewide.A second contract authorizes a similar project at Jonathan Dayton High School, also awarded to Field Turf. The Dayton project carries a cost of $809,708.13 and will likewise be funded through capital reserve dollars. This contract is also issued under ESCNJ 22/23‑37.Both projects are part of ongoing facilities improvements aimed at enhancing athletic spaces, improving field safety, and reducing long‑term maintenance costs.The board approved the contracts as part of the Finance, Facilities, and Security Committee agenda.
