
Springfield BOE Approves New Staff Appointments; Two Resignations Accepted

SPRINGFIELD, NJ — The Springfield Board of Education approved a series of personnel changes at its April 27 meeting, including multiple staff appointments for the remainder of the current school year and for 2026–27, as well as two resignations and one retirement rescission.The BOE approved five new hires across the district:Lucas Byrne was appointed as an Instructional Aide at Edward V. Walton School, effective on or about April 28 through June 30, 2026, at an hourly rate of $23.62.Michael Schlossberg was hired as a Math Teacher at Florence M. Gaudineer Middle School for the 2026–27 school year at a salary of $82,712.Eliza Bruncaj was appointed as a Special Education Teacher at Edward V. Walton School for 2026–27 at $68,147.Anne Noe was hired as a Math Teacher at Jonathan Dayton High School for 2026–27 at $69,397.Kellie Nicklus was appointed as a Special Education Teacher at Florence M. Gaudineer Middle School for 2026–27 at $69,397.The Board of Education also accepted the resignations of two staff members:Charlotte Reinhardt‑Hepler, Elementary Teacher at James Caldwell School, effective June 30, 2026.Rebecca Rosenberg, Before/After Care Program staff member at Edward V. Walton School, effective April 14, 2026In related personnel action, Michelle Feder, an Instructional Aide, rescinded her previously submitted retirement that was set to take effect July 1.
