PRINGFIELD, NJ — The Union County‑led reconstruction of Caldwell Place remains on schedule, with Springfield officials reporting that the project is now roughly one‑third complete. Springfield administrator John Bussiculo briefed the Township Committee on April 28, noting that the work has progressed without delays or complications.“We’re about 30 percent done,” Bussiculo said. “There has been no issues, and we’re still on schedule — or the county is — to make June 26th finished date is what they are telling us presently.” He added that if the county’s timeline changes, “We will bring that to you immediately.”According to Bussiculo, crews are currently installing “8‑inch casing pipe for gas,” placing “the rebar for the footings,” and preparing to “pour the concrete for the footing walls.” These steps represent the core structural phase of the project. The township continues to coordinate with county engineers and will provide updates as the project advances.
