SPRINGFIELD, NJ – The Springfield Township Committee unanimously adopted Ordinance 2026‑05 at its April 14 meeting. The ordinance removes the permit‑parking requirement on the east side of Profitt Avenue. The restriction was originally created decades ago due to parking overflow from a medical office that is now closed.“My understanding is that there weren't very many permits issued for that street over the years,” township attorney Kraig Dowd said. The ordinance does not eliminate the restrictions on parking on the west side of Profitt Avenue.
