Clark's Saint John the Apostle School Brings Musical Mean Girls Jr. to Life
Union County Life News Desk · Union County Life
CLARK, NJ — At Saint John the Apostle School, the stage lights recently shined a little brighter as students brought the musical Mean Girls Jr. to life. Adapted from the beloved film Mean Girls, the production became far more than a school play—it was a story about true friendship, kindness, courage, and discovering the unique gifts God has given each of us.From the moment the curtain opened, the audience was drawn into the world of Cady Heron and her classmates as they navigated the challenges of friendship, peer pressure, and finding their place in the school community. Through energetic musical numbers, humorous moments, and heartfelt scenes, the students reminded everyone in the audience that words matter and that choosing kindness can transform a community. While the original story is known for its humor and sharp social commentary, the students of Saint John the Apostle presented Mean Girls Jr. as a thoughtful cautionary tale—one that encourages young people to believe in themselves and resist the pressure to fit into someone else’s expectations. The message resonated clearly: every person is uniquely created, and each individual has the ability to shine.Throughout the rehearsal process, students embraced a growth mindset —learning lines, choreography, and stage direction while supporting one another as a cast and crew. The experience reflected the school’s commitment to traditional Catholic values, reminding students that humility, compassion, and respect for others help build stronger friendships and a stronger community.“Watching our students bring this story to life was incredibly inspiring,” said Principal Keara DeMaio. “They showed tremendous courage and creativity on stage, but more importantly they demonstrated that when we support one another and celebrate each person’s unique gifts, everyone has the opportunity to shine.”As the final curtain closed and the audience rose in applause, the message of the evening was clear: true confidence comes not from fitting in, but from embracing who you are and using your talents to lift others up. At Saint John the Apostle School, every student is encouraged to grow, believe in themselves, and remember that each one is a star created to shine brightly.[Don’t miss any TAPinto Clark news.
