CLARK, NJ — On Wednesday, April 29, Saint John the Apostle School welcomed families of students in Pre-K through Grade 2 for a joyful evening filled with color, creativity, and connection during its annual Kids Art Show. The event showcased student artwork inspired by the school-wide “One School, One Book” initiative, which this year featured the beloved story The Rainbow Fish by Marcus Pfister for the lower grades.Throughout the gymnasium, young artists proudly displayed their interpretations of the story’s themes of sharing, friendship, and kindness. Shimmering scales put together as a Rainbow Fish collage reflected not only artistic growth, but also the deeper lessons students explored together in their classrooms. The evening extended beyond the art displays as families were invited to bring their favorite board games to enjoy with classmates. The school also provided a variety of games, transforming classrooms into spaces of laughter, teamwork, and shared joy. Students, parents, and teachers gathered side by side, modeling the importance of community and cooperation. Rooted in Catholic tradition, the event reflected Saint John the Apostle School’s commitment to nurturing the whole child—mind, heart, and spirit. Through storytelling, creativity, and fellowship, students were encouraged to recognize the dignity of others, practice generosity, and grow in compassion. The evening also highlighted a growth mindset approach, reminding students that learning is a journey where effort, perseverance, and resilience lead to progress and confidence.Principal Keara DeMaio reflected on the significance of the event, saying, “Moments like these bring our school's mission to life. When students share their creativity and families come together in joy, we see resilience, kindness, and a true sense of belonging. The lessons from The Rainbow Fish remind us that when we choose to share our gifts, we help our entire community shine brighter.”The Kids Art Show served as a meaningful celebration of early childhood learning at Saint John the Apostle School, reinforcing that academic growth is deeply connected to character formation, faith, and community.Saint John the Apostle School is currently accepting applications for new students from Pre-K through Grade 8.Families interested in learning more about the school’s faith-based academic programs can visit the school website and find application information under the Admissions tab.[Don’t miss any TAPinto Clark news.
