
Dayton Softball Team Seeded Sixth for Union County Tournament

SPRINGFIELD, NJ – Dayton has been awarded the sixth seed in a potentially wide-open field for the upcoming Union County softball tournament.Daytin (8-9) defeated Roselle Park, 16-0, on Tuesday after the seeding were completed.In Tuesday's win, Jessica Miller went 3-for-4 with three runs batted in, Julianna Santangelo had two hits and three RBI, Carolyn Cantagallo had a double and three RBI and Lila Carroll went 2-for-3 and scored four runs.Santangelo was the winning pitcher with one hit allowed in four innings. She struck out nine and walked none.In the UCT, Dayton will play a first-round game at home against 11th-seeded Oak Knoll on Saturday. If Dayton wins, the Bulldogs would play the winner between (3) Summit and (14) Union in the quarterfinals on Tuesday, May 12.The county semifinals will be on Thursday, May 14. The championship game is scheduled for May 19 at Kean University.
