CRANFORD, N.J. — A driver was taken into custody Sunday night after fleeing police and crashing on Orange Avenue, according to a statement from the Cranford Police Department.The crash occurred at approximately 9:55 p.m. on May 3, when officers initially attempted to stop a vehicle for traffic violations, police said. The driver failed to pull over and instead sped away, leading to a pursuit.Authorities said the vehicle ultimately crashed on Orange Avenue. The driver was taken into custody at the scene and charged with eluding.No additional details about injuries or the identity of the driver were immediately available.
