RAHWAY, NJ — The City of Rahway and Rahway Special Improvement District are pleased to bring together a curated group of local artisans in downtown Rahway on Saturday, May 16, for the East Cherry Street Artisan Market, part of the larger NJ Art & Music Express taking place across Rahway, Avenel, and Woodbridge.Running from noon to 4 p.m. at 59 East Cherry Street, the outdoor pop-up market will feature approximately a dozen independent makers offering handcrafted goods including jewelry, accessories, hand-poured candles, crocheted items, and other unique pieces. The East Cherry Street Artisan Market is intentionally scaled to create a more personal experience, allowing visitors to meet the makers, learn about their process, and shop thoughtfully made goods in a relaxed setting.Live music from local solo and duo performers will take place throughout the afternoon, set beside Rahway’s River Goddess mural, adding to the atmosphere and connecting the event to the broader arts programming happening throughout the region as part of NJ Art & Music Express.Visitors are also encouraged to explore Rahway’s broader arts offerings throughout the day, including visual art exhibitions in local venues and the city’s walkable public art installations near East Cherry Street. A free shuttle will connect the Rahway Train Station Plaza with The Gallery Space, which will present the exhibition Face(t)s of America from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.The NJ Art & Music Express initiative brings together three neighboring communities—Rahway, Avenel, and Woodbridge—for a day of coordinated arts and music events designed to highlight local talent, cultural spaces, and small businesses.Visitors are encouraged to make an afternoon of it by exploring nearby Rahway businesses for lunch, coffee, sweets, or drinks, while also taking advantage of programming happening across the region.“Events like the East Cherry Street Artisan Market showcase the creativity and entrepreneurial spirit that define Rahway,” said Rahway Mayor Raymond Giacobbe. “We’re proud to support our local artists while also partnering with our neighbors in Woodbridge through the NJ Art & Music Express to celebrate the arts on a regional level.”The event is free to attend, with nearby parking available.Event Details:East Cherry Street Artisan MarketSaturday, May 1612:00 PM – 4:00 PM59 East Cherry Street, Rahway, NJ 07065Free admissionFor more information, including the full NJ Art & Music Express schedule, visit: https://rahwayishappening.com/njamx[Don’t miss any TAPinto Rahway news.
