Firefighters Extinguish Dumpster Fire on Westfield/Garwood Border

WESTFIELD, NJ — No one was hurt when members of the Westfield and Garwood Fire Departments extinguished a dumpster fire Tuesday night, Fire Chief Michael Duelks told TAPinto Westfield.The Westfield Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a dumpster fire on the corner of Windsor and South Avenue at about 10:15 p.m., Duelks said. The Garwood Fire Department was also dispatched to the scene due to fire's location on the border of the two municipalities.“Upon arrival, units found a fully involved dumpster fire in the middle of a construction site,” he said.Firefighters deployed a handline to knock down the flames, he said.
