Girls Track & Field: Westfield Places 3rd at Union County Championships

PLAINFIED, NJ — The Westfield High School girls track and field team took third overall at the Union County Championships held May 7-8 at Hub Stine Field in Plainfield.The Blue Devils finished third with a score of 42. County power Union Catholic won the event in dominating fashion with a team score of 221, followed by runner-up Cranford and its score of 48.5Sophomore Lidia Wright came in first in the high jump in 5-0, and she was second in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:03.71. Senior Jillian Joseph was seventh in the 800-meter run in 2:38.11, while freshman Annie Duffy took eighth in 2:38.60.In the triple jump, freshman Chloe Pfeifer was fifth at 32-9, while senior Audrina Cohall was eighth with a 31-7.50 mark.In the pole vault, sophomore Bridget Garrett took second at 8-0, while sophomore Cadie Stanek was fourth at 7-6.Sophomore Lidia Wright finished third in the 100-meter hurdles with a 14.90 mark. Junior Anna Youssef was fifth in the 3200-meter run in 11:53.31. The 4x400 meter team was fifth 4:05.53. Junior Scarlett Goldman finished in seventh in the long jump with a 16-6.50 mark.
