
‘Hidden in Plain Sight’ Program Offers Eye-Opening Look at Teen Drug Warning Signs

HILLSIDE, NJ —Community members are invited to take part in “Hidden in Plain Sight,” an interactive and educational program designed to raise awareness about teen drug use and the often-overlooked warning signs in everyday environments.The event will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Media Center at Hillside High School, located at 1085 Liberty Avenue."This informative event will open your eyes to the reality of drug usage among young people, and ask the question “'Do you pay attention to what's inside your child's bedroom,'” a post on social media from Hillside Public Schools said.“Hidden in Plain Sight” features a simulated teenager’s bedroom, staged with items that may signal substance use. Organizers say the program aims to provide parents, caregivers and community members with practical knowledge to better recognize potential red flags and start important conversations with young people.The event is open to the public.
