RAHWAY, NJ — Join the City of Rahway on Tuesday, May 12, for a Haitian Flag Raising!The event will take place at 5 p.m. at Rahway Train Station Plaza.Haitian Flag Day is officially celebrated on May 18 and recognizes the creation of the Haitian flag, following Haiti's independence from French colonial rule. The flag was originally sewn together in 1803 by Catherine Flon at the request of Jean Jacques Dessalines who tore the French flag and removed the white portion.[Don’t miss any TAPinto Rahway news.
