KENILWORTH, NJ - The fifth issue of Harding Elementary School's newspaper Let's HAWK About It! was recently published. Members of the Newspaper Club wrote the following article after they interviewed Harding Principal Ronald Bubnowski and Vice Principal Carol Carrara.Mr. Bubnowski’s Interview Written by Isabella Hurtado I had the opportunity to interview Mr. Bubnowski, and here is what he said. For my first question, I had asked “ How do you want students to feel after spring break?” He told me he wants students to feel safe and relaxed. For my second question, I had asked “What do you think makes a good student?” He responded saying that doing your best and being kind makes a great student! Another question I had asked was “How was your spring break?” He said that he had hung out with family and relaxed. Some other questions I had asked were “How can students and staff make school a fun place after spring break?” He responded by saying that staff and students can make school a fun place after spring break by being kind and having a great attitude. My last question was “"Now that we’re springing into the final stretch, what's your favorite part about leading our school?" He said that he loves seeing students do well and having fun whenever they can. Those were all my questions for Mr. Bubnowski’s interview! Interview with Mrs. Carrara Written by Camila Garcia This past month, I had the privilege to interview our beloved Vice Principal, Mrs. Carrara. As we enter the spring season, she happily answered a couple of spring-themed questions. Here are her answers to my questions. “What do you plan to do during spring break?” I asked her. She replied, “I have two books that I’m going to read, take a walk every day, and spend Easter with my family.” “What’s your favorite flower?” I asked. “My favorite flower is a yellow rose.” She responded. Those are very pretty flowers! When I asked her, “What’s your favorite spring food/drink?” She answered with, “An iced chai latte!” YUM! “What do you like to do outside?” I asked her. “I love to walk outside, and I like to garden a little bit!” For my last question, since we celebrate Women’s History Month in March, I asked her this question: “Who is a woman who has inspired you for Women’s History Month, and why?” She said, “A woman who’s inspired me is my sister, who is a single mom and has been a kindergarten teacher for 30 years, and she works so hard every single day.” I would like to thank Mrs. Carrara for her time in answering my questions, and I hope she knows that she’s a woman who inspires many young women every single day.
