
Linden City Council Passes Resolution Supporting Expanded Child Care Assistance

Linden, NJ - At this month’s Linden City Council meeting, Resolution 2026-198 was passed. This resolution calls for expanded funding and support for the New Jersey Child Care Assistance Program—helping more families qualify, reducing out-of-pocket costs, and strengthening access to affordable, quality childcare.5th Ward Councilwoman Kayla Lott, emphasized the importance of the resolution for both families and local providers. “This will not only support working families, but it will also uplift our very own childcare providers right here in Linden, including A Touch of Heaven (Director Liana Roldan), Alvey’s Education Never End Program Inc. (Director Angela Alvey-Wimbush), and dedicated home childcare providers like Ms. Miller. ” These providers are essential to our community, and this resolution recognizes the critical role they play in supporting our children and families every day said Lott.Angela Wimbush, Director of Alvey's Education Never End Program, Inc. stated," Thank you to Linden City Council for supporting the CCAP initiative. You are helping parents, students, and child care providers breathe with relief that we can help families and make a difference."Councilwoman Lott also stated, "It was also a pleasure to partner with New Jersey Communities United to help bring awareness to this issue and highlight the real impact that childcare affordability has on our residents.
