Linden to Celebrate Haitian Heritage Month with Cultural Events and Flag Raising Ceremony

LINDEN, NJ - Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden, the Department of Parks & Recreation, Linden Public Schools, and the New Jersey–Haiti Partners of the Americas, have announced several events to celebrate Haitian Heritage Month this month. The month-long celebration will highlight Haitian culture, history, and community pride through several activities, including music, dance, and food. The centerpiece of the celebration will be the Haitian Flag Raising and Cultural Celebration, scheduled this Saturday, May 9,2026, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Raymond Wood Bauer Promenade, located at 400 North Wood Avenue. The event will begin with a ceremonial flag raising accompanied by music and cultural performances honoring the Haitian flag. Please see flyer for additional information.
