PLAINFIELD, NJ — Shortly before 6pm on Tuesday, the Plainfield Fire Department responded to a mulch fire outside the large apartment complex on the former Muhlenberg site.Residents on the scene reported low visibility in the building's parking lot and up to a block away before firefighters were able to stop the fire. The mulch was reportedly recently replaced. At around 6:15, TAPinto Plainfield observed firefighters spraying the mulch repeatedly to ensure that the fire was out.
