Union County Life News Desk · Union County Life
PLAINFIELD, NJ — The Plainfield Police Department is reminding residents to lock their vehicles after reporting an uptick in entries into unlocked cars across Plainfield. In an alert issued Sunday, police said the recent incidents involve individuals entering vehicles that were left unlocked. The PPD last issued a similar alert during the summer of 2024, and this sort of crime is more common in the warmer months. In many cases, suspects move from car to car, peeking through windows and checking door handles.“As a reminder, please lock your car doors at all times, do not leave your keys or key fob in your vehicle and remove any valuable items from view,” the department wrote in a public notice. “Also ensure your home’s windows and doors are locked.”
