
Rahway's Roosevelt Elementary Celebrates Student Talent at 2nd Annual ‘Music & Movement’ Performance

RAHWAY, NJ — On Tuesday, April 14, the halls of Roosevelt Elementary School echoed with song and spirit as students took the stage for the school’s 2nd annual Music & Movement Performance. Led by music teacher Ms. Baker, the event served as a vibrant showcase of student creativity, musicianship, and artistic passion.The success of the performance was rooted in a school-wide collaboration. Ms. Baker worked closely with classroom teachers Mrs. Biddulph, Mrs. Teixeira, Ms. Noto Billera, Ms. Moise, Mrs. DeNigris, Mrs. Harbachuk, Mrs. Kukan, and Mrs. McFadden to integrate the arts into the daily curriculum.In the weeks leading up to the event, students immersed themselves in a variety of disciplines:Mindful Movement: Mastering choreography using colorful ribbons and scarves.Instrumental Skills: Developing rhythm and coordination through egg shaker percussion.Vocal Performance: Learning the lyrics and melodies to a diverse selection of spring-themed songs.On the day of the concert, the young performers captivated a full house of families and community members. The program featured:Energetic Dance Routines: Utilizing scarves and ribbons to demonstrate grace and timing.Rhythmic Displays: A spirited egg shaker percussion ensemble that brought festive energy to the stage.Vocal Highlights: Heartfelt choral performances that demonstrated the students' growing melodic range."This performance was a true testament to the dedication of our staff and the incredible potential of our students," said vocal music teacher Ms. Baker. "Seeing the pride on the faces of our families and the joy in our students' performances is what makes the Roosevelt community so special."Roosevelt Elementary is committed to fostering a supportive learning environment where academic excellence meets creative expression.
