
Rotary Club of Union to Host Eloquence Soiree Honoring Student Speakers, Community Leaders

UNION, N.J. — The Rotary Club of Union will host its annual Eloquence Soiree on June 3 at Galloping Hill Caterers, celebrating student achievement in public speaking while honoring community leadership and educational excellence.The event, held annually since 1997, highlights the oratorical talents of Union High School students who participate in the club’s public speaking competition. Students compose and deliver original speeches based on a theme selected by Rotary officials.Following a judged competition, top student speakers receive scholarships and are invited to present their speeches during the Soiree.In addition to the student presentations, the evening will feature the Rotary Excellence in Education Awards.The Rotary Club will posthumously honor Sal Dovi, a longtime Rotarian recognized for his dedication to Union’s youth through his work with the Boys and Girls Club.The event will also recognize the staff and programs behind two work-based learning initiatives at Union High School: The Farmer’s Cafe and Copy Th@t. The programs provide job training and social development opportunities for students with disabilities.
