
Softball: Dayton Beats Westfield, 7-5; Lila Carroll Sets the School Hit Record

WESTFIELD, NJ – Lila Carroll broke the school record for hits in a career and Avital Kandel hit a home run and drove in two runs to help Dayton to a 7-5 softball victory over Westfield on Wednesday.Carroll went 1-for-3 with an RBI, giving her 116 hits in her four-year career. Carroll is batting .397 this season.Kandel was one of four batters for Dayton (9-9) to collect two hits in the game. Abigail Trenk and Aubrey Cantagallo each had a triple and a single and each had two RBI.Samantha Sainato went 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored for the Bulldogs, who scored four runs in the fourth inning to take a 7-1 lead.
