Springfield DPW Saves $6,000 by Printing Service Brochure In‑House

SPRINGFIELD, NJ — Springfield’s Department of Public Works has saved approximately $6,000 by printing its annual service brochure in‑house rather than mailing it, DPW head Robert Boettcher told the Township Committee on April 28.“Due to the increasing cost for printing and postage, we decided to print the brochures in‑house and have them available in all the township buildings and on the website,” Boettcher said. “Any resident that doesn’t have access to a computer… if they call up, we actually will deliver one to them.”Boettcher noted that resident demand for printed copies has been low. “To date, we’ve only had four requests for that,” he said. “So the $6,000 we saved on the mailing, I think, was a good idea.”
