
Traffic Alert: Construction Crews to Impact Major Summit Roads Through Friday

SUMMIT, NJ — Drivers across Summit should expect delays, detours, and road closures throughout the week as a wave of utility and milling projects hits several major residential and commuter corridors beginning Monday, according to the Summit Police Department.Among the busiest trouble spots expected this week are stretches of Springfield Avenue, Mountain Avenue, Druid Hill Road, Canoe Brook Parkway, and Laurel Avenue, with crews scheduled to work daily from early morning through late afternoon.The largest recurring project is expected near Canoe Brook Parkway at Canoe Brook Place, where work tied to the Portofino development is scheduled every day from 7:30 a.m. to approximately 4:30 p.m.Meanwhile, PSEG milling operations are set to move through multiple neighborhoods during the week, including:• Monday: Druid Hill Road• Tuesday: Druid Hill Road and Sweetbriar Drive• Wednesday: Garden Road at Linda Lane• Thursday: Colony Drive at Glen Oaks Avenue• Friday: Colt Road, Crestwood Lane, and Manor Hill RoadAdditional utility work is planned daily on or near:• Springfield Avenue near Passaic Avenue• Mountain Avenue at Devon Road• Laurel Avenue• Greenbriar Drive• Pine Ridge Drive at Pine Grove AvenuePolice warned that road closures and detours may be in effect and urged motorists to leave extra travel time throughout the week.The schedule remains weather-dependent and may change with little notice.Residents with questions can contact the Summit Police Department Traffic Safety Bureau at 908-273-0051.
