
Union County HEART Grants Awarded To Several Summit Arts, Cultural Organizations

SUMMIT, NJ — Local artists, historians and community organizations in Summit are among dozens of Union County recipients receiving funding through the 2026 HEART Grant Program, a countywide effort supporting cultural and educational projects that shape community life.The Union County Board of County Commissioners announced 81 grants totaling $100,000 this year through the HEART (History, Education, Arts Reaching Thousands) program, which has funded local arts and heritage initiatives since 1998. Officials say the goal is to strengthen access to arts, history and humanities programming across all 21 municipalities, including Summit.“We are proud to support the individuals and organizations who create meaningful opportunities for our residents to connect through arts, history, and education. The HEART Grant Program helps make these experiences accessible and keeps our communities connected,” said Union County Commissioner Chairman Joseph C. Bodek. “At its core, this program supports the people who make Union County a vibrant place to live.”In Summit, several organizations and artists were awarded support, including the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey, Vivid Stage, Stony Hill Players, the Summit Community Players at Central Presbyterian Church, SAGE Eldercare, The Connection for Women and Families, New Jersey Intergenerational Orchestra, and individual artist Hao Feng, among others.For more information, residents can contact the Union County Office of Cultural and Heritage Affairs at 908-558-2550 or culturalinfo@ucjnj.org.
