
Union to Host Two-Day Memorial Day Celebration

UNION, N.J. — A two-day Memorial Day celebration featuring a living history encampment, parade and commemorative program will take place May 24-25 in Union to honor the nation’s history and recognize those who have served in the military.The events will begin Sunday, May 24, with a Living History Encampment from 1 to 4 p.m. at Friberger Park, located behind Town Hall at 1976 Morris Ave.The encampment will offer visitors an immersive look at life during the Revolutionary War era and will include reenactors portraying the Continental Army, British Army and Hessian forces.The celebration will continue Monday, May 25, with Union’s Memorial Day Parade beginning at 10 a.m. at the VFW, 2012 High St.The parade route will include a reviewing stand at Pearl Harbor Circle and feature vintage vehicles, military units and local organizations.Following the parade, a Revolutionary War reenactment and memorial program will begin at noon at Honor Roll Park.
