Water Line Installation Planned for Dog Park and Community Garden in Springfield

Union County Life News Desk · Union County Life

SPRINGFIELD, NJ — A new water line will soon serve both the planned Springfield Dog Park and the adjacent community garden, administrator John Bussiculo announced during the April 28 Township Committee meeting.“We’ve contacted the water company,” Bussiculo said. “We’ve put in an application in order to get a line to the dog park. Not only that, there’ll be water available for the community garden.” The installation will include a “5/8 meter, 15 gallons per minute” connection, which the township expects to suffice for both uses.Bussiculo reported that the township is still awaiting the confirmation of an installation date from New Jersey American Water.“As soon as I get that, I will let you know,” he said, adding that the work “should not be too far in the distance.”The water line installation is connected to upcoming paving work on the same street, and officials want to ensure the utility work is completed before the roadway is resurfaced. The addition of a dedicated water source is considered a key step toward the completion of the dog park.
