Who Let the Dogs Out? Summit’s Pop-Up Park Is Back on the Village Green
Union County Life News Desk · Union County Life
SUMMIT, NJ — A new round of temporary dog park pop-ups has landed on the Village Green across from the post office, kicking off the City’s latest push to test where a future permanent dog park might best fit.The fenced-in space, now open, will shift to Memorial Field next as officials rotate locations to see how each area performs and how residents respond. It’s a simple idea with a bigger goal — paws hit the grass on the Green as local dogs and their owners try out the space, offering a real-time glimpse into what works, what doesn’t, and where a long-term park could take root.Summit already operates a permanent dog park at the Transfer Station, but Common Council is looking beyond that footprint to better serve other neighborhoods.Residents who stop by are encouraged to weigh in through a short survey at cityofsummit.org/dogparksurvey, with feedback expected to play a role in shaping the City’s next move.
