Free Summer Concerts Return to Berkeley Heights This July
Lawn chairs go up on the grass. Kids find the bounce house before their parents find a good spot. Food trucks line the perimeter. And somewhere close to 7 p.m. on a Wednesday evening, the music starts.
Berkeley Heights' free Summer Concert Series is back, and Union County Life has the full schedule for the five remaining shows running through July 30. The Berkeley Heights Recreation Department is hosting the series at two locations: Veterans Memorial Park at 205 Plainfield Avenue and The Grove at Connell Park at 200 Connell Drive.
All five performances are free and open to the public. No registration is required.
The 2025 lineup covers a range of genres. Mission Dance opened the series June 25 at Memorial Park. Lost in Place followed July 2, also at Memorial Park. Austin City Nights, a modern country act, takes the stage July 9 at Memorial Park. The series then moves to The Grove at Connell Park for Audio Riot on July 23, before closing out with an All Decades cover band on July 30.
Every show runs from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Along with live music, each concert includes airbrush tattoos, a balloon artist, food trucks, free water, and a bounce house. Local businesses set up tables at every event.
A few things to know before heading out: Veterans Memorial Park has a playground on-site. The Grove at Connell Park does not. Dogs are welcome but the township notes they are not recommended, as some attendees may be uncomfortable around them. Alcohol is not permitted under New Jersey state law.
For weather cancellations or updates, check the Berkeley Heights Township website or the Recreation Department page before you leave.
