Scotch Plains, NJ Municipal Parking Lot Closures — World Cup 2026

The Scotch Plains Municipal building parking lot will be closed on multiple dates this summer due to World Cup-related events, according to a notice published June 9, 2026, on the township's official website.
Union County Life is sharing this notice so Scotch Plains residents who need to visit the Municipal building can plan ahead. On affected dates, normal parking will not be available, and the township advises that visitors may face delays and longer walks to the building.
The confirmed closure dates are:
Friday, June 12, 2026 — Lot closed all day. Handicap parking will be available. (This date has passed.)
Friday, June 19, 2026 — Lot closed all day. Handicap parking will be available.
Thursday, June 25, 2026 — Lot closed starting at 2 p.m. Handicap parking availability on this date was not confirmed in the township notice.
Sunday, July 19, 2026 — Lot closed all day. Handicap parking will be available.
What to Do on Closure Dates
The township has noted that additional closure dates may be announced. Residents can call 908-322-6700 or visit scotchplainsnj.gov before heading to the Municipal building at 430 Park Ave on any of these dates.
